Post Qld Womens Team
In August the Australian Four Day is going to be held in Dungog, NSW.

We are currently calling for an expression of interest from any ladies that would be interested in being part of the Womens team.

If you are selected, you will be pitted with the rest of the Qld team (Junior, Senior and Development teams) and managed by "yours truly". You may also be allocated some funding from the QESC.

If you are interested, either post up here in this thread or send me a PM.

Naomi, I think it is time you raced another 4 day...

What sort of riding is it? MX, Enduro, EnduroX, etc etc.

Post Re: Qld Womens Team
April,

The A4DE is a card carrying Enduro ending with a final Moto.

On all days, 3 riders start every minute. A trail section is ridden to a check point. Once through that check point, a special test is raced at one rider every 15 seconds. The special test can be a single track through the trees or a grass track in a paddock and generally take 6-8mins to complete. After the test, another trail is ridden to the next check point. Most riders normally get about a 10min rest at the check point. Days 1-3 are normally around 180kms long and you'll spend about 6 hours on the bike each day.

On the fourth day, trails are ridden to the final Moto where you will race with others in your class. The track is normally a grass track in a paddock. Sometimes it may incorporate part of a MX track with small jumps. This final day can be as short as 50kms.

Like most races, there are no hard hills or difficult obstacles. With three riders every minute, they can't afford any bottle necks. The trails at Beerburrum are much harder in comparison.

So, completely new to this forum thing! But very interested in the A4DE.. Have always been curious but new that it was too big to do on my own! Cheers April for letting me know about the QLD womens team.

So, how do we go about getting on the team? :) What's the go with selections?

Tara,

Firstly, to be able to race the A4DE, you need to be a member of a club and you need to have a national race licence. To race for Qld, you need to be a member of a Qld club.

Each state puts in a team of 6 senior riders (over 23 years of age), 4 junior riders (under 23 years of age) and 3 women riders. If you get selected on the Qld team, you will have access to a shipping container in Parc Ferme for storage of your tools, spares and fuel. You will be able to do your work period under the Qld quickshades that are positioned in front of the containers. You supporters will work along side the other Qld team supporters. This means that your supporters don't have to drive around all day chasing you, to give you fuel and food. Instead your supporters will go to a check point and help all the Qld team riders and their supporters help you at the other check points.

You will also have me relaying important information from the managers meetings every afternoon, I'll be looking over your shoulder at work periods, organising your supporters and there to answer any questions. You may also be in the running for some assistance from the QESC in terms of fuel vouchers.

Now to be considered for a position of the Qld team, you need to put in an expression of interest. There is a form to fill out and you can get it by messaging Debbie on the Queensland Enduro Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/EnduroQueensland

If you are even remotely considering racing the A4DE, I cant suggest strongly enough that you race the first round of the Qld 2 day championships at Boyland over Easter. This is a very similar format to the A4DE and it will give you a taste of how easy or hard it is. Plus the race at Boyland is only just around the corner. Here is the entry form http://www.ma.org.au/fileadmin/user_upl ... d_3__4.pdf

or you can enter on line here https://www.mvorconline.com/aorc/resour ... ntries.php?

Entries for this race close in 1 week.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

P.S. Say hi to Steve for me.

Thanks heaps for the info :) Have been having a good ole think about it and would really love to go for it, but I'm thinking my funds aren't quite going to cut it to start my Enduro career this year - hehe. Maybe next year...! As far as Enduro's go though - I've never raced any! Did a Yamaha 2 day at Goomburra about 4yrs ago as a non-competitive rider out of curiosity and loved it!

Anyways, just about saved up for new bike so that I can say goodbye to the TE250 so I think I will keep at it - desperate for a newie. Jealous of Steve's new Kato.

Oh and Steve says Hi! Back :)

When & where are you riding next?

Next year, the A4DE might even be closer to home....

Tell Steve that I'm parking the little bike up for a while. I've got a two week ride coming up on the big bike in May, so I'm busy prepping and testing it before hand. Plus I've got to spend some time with the wife and new born to in the good books before I leave them at home alone.

I'll be back on the little bike in June.

Awesome, well, if it ended up being closer to home next year I think I would have to try for it! :)

Will let Steve know, that's a shame we won't be able to tee up a ride, but we will definately when you start again in June.

Good luck with the big bike and the fam :)
