 Stuffed Knee
My right knee is giving me quite a bit of pain lately. More so than the usual I have put up with for the last 22 years. Torn the ACL playing soccer way back then. Since going to MX mountain a couple of months ago its been crap. Thought I had better go and get it looked at again, maybe some advice, magical cure, and also I predicted bad news. Yep... just bad news. The gap between the bones are supposed to have an even space between them and in align with each other. Also should be relatively smooth surface. As you can see its not the case here. Not much can be done. Replacement knee in time, will be a very long time in my books. Got specific exercises from the physio to get better support. Started taking claucosamine as well. If anyone has a "useful" advice I'am all ears... cheers

 Re: Stuffed Knee
Not good news Frank !!!!
i know how you feel i also suffer a right knee damage that the specialst just said come back when you cant walk on it ..as a new knee only last 10 years lol...so we like to replace knees at around the age of 65.
what a Dick ay..
you have probably upset it at mx park and it will go back to where it wants to be in a few weeks...i find most annoying time is when i go to bed it aches...prolly does all day but you dont notice it as your active..
between those 2 bone joints is a tissue medical ligiment or sumthing like that ..i tore mine 2.7cm horizontal!! so can never ever mend properly as your knee always bends.. .. also the tissue is flatttend and out of shape from lifting heavy weights over the years.. he said if i cutn trim where do i stop ..
yup Dickhead on 300K a year ..
so rest it up for a few weeks see how it goes..

 Re: Stuffed Knee
Frank Sorry to hear about the knee. A bit of time out to get rid of the pain, and then maybe have a look at some braces. Whilst not braces, I've found the Thor Force knee guards to be OK. I thought I was going to have to give it away about 5 years ago, but they made a huge difference. Due for a new set now. Mark

 Re: Stuffed Knee
Donna Here: Sorry to hear Frank. I used to work in orthopedics and seen 100's of hip and knee replacements.....I'd kick it down the road as far as you can too. As for useful advice....you are on the money with glucosamine. Condroiton (?spelling) is useful as well. Eat the gristle and white bits off the ends of the chicken bones...believe it or not....it helps build cartliage. Alkaline your system...put lemon/lime juice in your water....acid I know but it causes the pancreases to dump a heap of sodium bicarbonate therefore alkalining your system therefore allowing your body to make the cartliage and not aggravate the joint. Pain relief....most pain relief clogs up the liver...not good...here is a natural homeopathic one that works well.....Paul used it on a broken knuckle and I used it when I had a tooth pulled. It's called traumeel s http://www.heel.com.au/search/product.php?command=symptom_search&&symptom_id=84 have a look....you should be able to get some from healthy life or a pharmacy that has vitamins and minerals. Hope this helps

 Re: Stuffed Knee
Obviously form the X-ray Frank you have the old "bone on bone" thing happening there, and have had for a fair while. It's stuffed!!!! I'm with Dale, I thought it was a jagged fracture of the tibia till I read it was a knee joint Nurse it as long as you can then get a newy. the longer you can make it last the more time they docs have to develop better joints that will give you a better result. was it caused by this? and does it look like this?? Attachment:

Then YEP it's STUFFED......................and the knee is too.

 Re: Stuffed Knee
thats no good frank the only help i might have is dont do any walking or jogging this is from a 67year old guy who had stuffed knees and the doctor said the next visit you will need replacements and he asked what he could do ride a pushbike and that was about five years ago and he has not looked back(he is now doing the cycle part of triathlons and having a ball so, chin up and let it heal for a month before you return to some exercise on it. hope it gets better soon dude.
cheers ROCKET
