2013 Woodenbong weather looks dry next weekend - cant wait its simply the best ride of the year -
expensive - registered bikes only.
but with quads on one loop and bikes on the other and swap day 2.
Its like riding a groomed track swept clean after the quads with quad cleaned tracks from the day before with burmed sides.
Simply awsome single line riding through rain forests and hills of northern NSW. Only 2hrs drive south from the Gold coast.

2 yrs ago only the mad idiots went out in the bog fest - leeches YUK! Look close I got one under my chin.
I only found out after the pics - mate burnt it off with a ciggy and it bled for hrs.
Just sold the crusty DRZ and bought the awsome 2 stroke registered RMX
Cant wait to thrash the RMX next weekend. gnarly pipe FMF exhaust / reeds and upgraded carby idles and revs.

RMX 250 97 wasp ready to ride the woodenbong - gonna miss the electric start but ya cant beat a nimble light nippy zippy 2 stroke for fun and handling - cheap too! Luv suzukis.

heard the mud out there is treacherous, and it seems as the leaches are also.


had 4 on me after a ride up kennilworth once.

you should have seen the communial showers - nearly every second person was finding a leech or 3 -
There was blood flowin outa the combined shower water as it ran out - damn little suckers got every where.
I found 2 more bleed marks ( holes ) and 1 more leech on me in the shower - yuk!

Use salt next time,no bleeding and no getting burnt

Loved my RMX was an absolute ripper

yep mine sorta looked exactly the same when i got it - I just pimped it a bit.
Gotta say its the most rideable off road 2 stroke I have ever owned - just above
my pe 400t ( 80 ) in a rm 250 x rolling floater frame (81 ) with a disk front end (83 )
Had that for over 15 yrs as my hack but the rmx is by far the better machine.
Its funny to think that its over 16 yrs old now and still good value.

The new RMX 450s look great - but again its another hi maintenace 4 stroke machine.
Having said that my RM 250 bored out to the 295 by Eric gore is a bueaty but un registerable.
Still with a gnarly pipe / reeds / weighted fly wheel / Moose bash plate /bark busters
carbon fibre pipe guard / radiator guards / gripper seat cover and completly rejetted to suit carby
it goes sooo well and a new decal kit - Ive always been a sticker man
its potentially the new rmx 2 stroke and i feel its what they should do to the rm
as they have to the RMZ and make a 2 stroke rmx 2014 registerble machine
Id buy one! - bring back the 2 strokes.

Woodenbong 2013 was absolutely awsome - heavy dew = no dust max traction - super fast tracks 40 and 50km over 2 days. Really fast tracks and was open for the first time to non registered bikes. It was worth every cent for great groomed tracks over private farms. No state forest so unregistered bikes are ok.
Did 2 x loops of both tracks each day sat sun and cant wait for the next one!
Can take the RM 300 next time!!! MINT!

I wouldn't go again. The senior track was very average, there was just 2 much high speed stuff. Got sick of arm pump hanging on at warp speed. It was not very technical at all, apart from hanging on at high speed. On the 2nd day I went & did the Novice track. Spewn I didn't ride it on Saturday because it left the seniors for dead. It was pretty much all single track with a few bits of high speed thrown in. The organisers were not on the ball because shit loads of people did not pay for MA licences, so some one will have to pay for them & it will be the club I suspect.
Felt like a pauper there, never seen so many QLDers with money, every second car had a base station with an imported large 4WD towing it. We had to settle with the Coffs KTM Truck & Pit shades .

Done a few trail rides in the past, But Woodenbong dosn't do it for me.

It was awsome Fast free flowing virtually no bottle necks perfect weather no dust max traction
And as for qldrs bling camping - well not us. Sounds like you had a bit of luxuary to me.
We all slept in pop up yabbies under a basic fly and cooked over an open fire - real men arrrr!
