Post new yamaha 450 f
Was up at kennilworth on sat got talkin to a guy on a new 450 his opinion so far front end is a vast improvement on the older models you can steer it into corners and it sticks (his words ) But one problem is it wont start with the button a lot of the times (maybe only his bike) not a problem with the model hav"nt heard yet. yamaha were a bit of problem in that area but .the other thing was the hot start there is no lever only a push pull under the tank hard to get to .thought that was weird dontknow .other than that he was more than happy with it . forgot to ask him about fuel economy though BangHead

fuel apparently no good on them. ( from what i heard )

the probem with the wr is they get stuck on top dead. and you need to use the kicker or roll it in gear to bring it of top dead centre.
mind improved after 2-3000 km when it lossend up a little

you dont need a hot start on injected bikes the button under the tanks are idle speed and a cold start if u need one but i highly doubt you will .
the bike wont start if u try and it does not fire wait a second or two and try again the ecu resets i believe

If weight is an issue, based on what I saw last weekend there is a LOT of weight to be saved ditching the electric starter and associated parts all together. The bike was starting 1st or failing that 2nd kick EVERY time.

Maybe the writer can push you back too the cars when it runs out. :D :D

Mate has one and we did Woodenbong ride mth ago did 2 loops (without topping tank up) on the Sat which were about 45klms.....had too push him the last few hundred meters back too camp sign10 .....still tight so may get a bit more after it loosens up.

What no 45ks? thats all...... man that is effing bad. I was one signature away from buying/owning this year's 450f... for the riding i do i wouldn't even be able to get half way to the next town from mt isa (cloncurry about 120k's nearest fuel station from home).

I wonder if any of the mileage issue is with smooth use of the throttle vs folks snapping it on and off and how much is single track style riding versus going 100km/hr + on open trails, fire roads etc. It would be a reasonably long day riding tight ST over 100km.
