Picked this up today, traded in my 07 DRZ 400E.

looks scmick mate! what that old rm in the back of the shed??

It's a 1980 RM 400T. My own man had it since it was new. He passed away a few years back and I claimed it. Looked pretty sad before I restored it. It still had the original plastics on it. After a few $$$$ she now looks like this

RMX ride report

$8k brand new ride away..... maybe I should stick it to the man and get one anyway!

I got rec rego for my RMX which let's me go on club rides. I have heard of people riding in the forest with it, not sure if I would risk it, well in Qld anyway. NSW is a different story

maxi it's not legal to ride a rec rego bike in nsw rta do not recognise qld rec rego which means you may as well be unregistered if you look in the qmr websitr they show zonings where rec rego vehicles are allowed so if a forest is in the allocated zone u are ok.

ps. did u get the gears sorted on the rm400 or doe we still need to look at it?

The RM will need looking at. When I click it down into first the lever won't spring back. I'm not sure if it's the return spring not in the right position or something deeper in the gear box.

it will be the selector spring in the side might have to organise a ride and you can drop it down to fix don't stress it's nothing major

luv the suzuki RM - I had a PE 400T in an rm 250X floater frame with a 83 disk front end.
Best all round machine I ever owned. Had for over 15 yrs and when i finally sold it !
There were 3 x people fighting at the bottom of my drive for it.
Had heaps of parts barrels seats exhaust etc all gone with the bike.
Like the RMZ but prefere a 2 stroke - Igot a rm250 bored out to a 300

oh yeah and i traded my old drz 400 07 just like you for the rm 300
so got the legal rmx ride and the old super thrasher rm 250 bored out to 300.
Might even give your 450 a run. definatly not a DRZ but man do i miss that electric start!
Not the bulky sluggish weight though -
was over it after 5 yrs of bush bashin a heavy bike in the mud.


Dirty drz went dirt cheap!
