Post After the first ride berg 570 ????
Hi all after Saturdays ride in the nice conditions I washed bike and today did the first oil change etc.I took the seat off the berg to wash the air filter, and found a little bit of water sitting in the air box,as it is not a water sealed area and I'm not mechanically minded is there anything I should look for or do to make shore there is no internal damage, there was no water in the oil.( maybe Dan is the one to talk to) did anyone eles on the ride have the same thing, except for John you will have a thing or two to look at,BUT what to look at is my question!!!!! THANKS

I know on my old one some would get in there when washing it,they used to supply a cover to put on when washing.

You can buy an air box cover that uses the air filter screw or clips to mount it on. The cover has a rubber seal around it that makes a water tight seal when you tighten it up. Twin Air Makes them, I use one on my Husky, and its that good, i use my water blaster to wash the mud and dirt out of the air-box and no water gets in.

Yeah" I know what you Mean. What i have done is used a different bolt to hold the cover on. Its the same thread but its got a 10mm head and i use a rachet spanner and do it up till the box cover touches the thread mount. Its a very tight seal.

Mines only spring loaded,so that may be not so good at sealing.

I just degrease and use hose for air box, no preasure cleaner.

Have an airbox cover as well and I actually did the WR today. I only do it about 4 times a year. Same a jtheboy, only degreaser and a paint brush to scrub it with the hose out with a nozzle on the garden hose.
