Took the family to Glendon Rock after Sat morning storm.
Arrived at midday to find the place nearly deserted. The storm had hit Warwick at 4am and dropped 20mm, to leave no dust, freshly washed tracks and no traffic.
The wife got to use her 10 year wedding aniversary present (thought she was getting a ring - not in this family!) Yami YFM 125 quad.

Did about 30km for the arvo with wife and junior with my other boy on his pee wee.

By 2pm the sky was clear and made for a great night beside the fire.

The quad saw abit of action for its first ride and the little yami performed beautifully.

After owning 2 chinese quad crappers, they just don't compare to the workmanship that goes into a Jap quad. It got everywhere my wife pointed it.

I dragged the family through an assortment of the single trails at Glendon, which can be ridden as fast or as slow as you want. Even fits the little quad down most of them (I know cardinal sin of singles - taking a quad through :cussing ).

Finished the two days with just over 80km on my speedo. Not fast riding for me when I take the family but fun to be on the bike still. I get to practise a few things I never get too riding with mates. Although I still can't wheelie for
sh!t.
80km on a pee wee over 2 days looks something like this.

Absolutely knackered!
Good weekend all up. Great place to visit yet again.

Sound nice. We went there for new years as everything else was rained out.

A good place to take the family for sure. The lack of moto x track does seem to limit the dickhead flat peak brigade too.

It's a pity there isnt any challenging riding there though. Glad to hear that there was no dust, at new years it was a dust bowl.

The single track located near the south east corner is a good bit of fun with a few mates.

Lack of Motocross track and general associated tossers is why the family likes it.
Is generally pretty flat throughout the property, so those hill climb bandits will struggle to find their fix. But lots of fun singles threwn with rocks to keep your skills polished.
Just a nice spot to camp and have a leisurely ride weekend.

Yeah we take our kids out there too, the little fella has learnt to ride and crash his peewee there on the flat track, i have been there maybe 8 times over as many years, doesnt really change, just seems to keep growing more rocks, if you have the spare tubes and patience it is a great place to practice aggressive rock riding, there is alot of little single trails although you can ride the place out in half a day, good family camping place :D

Hey Trueblue - (or anyone else that knows), We've been to Glendon a good few times already and am interested in looking at the state forestry (Durakai) beside Glendon. Do you ride from Glendon to the Forest or trailer it? Ride beside highway? Any tips on where to try/start? Are my mates with 4WDs likely to be interested in there too?

ps - anyone else heading up this weekend (31/3 - 2/4)? If so come and say hello - Red Sportwagon, KTM250 & YZ125

Bob
