Post Sunday Glendon Rock Visit
Took my boy (4yr old) out to Glendon Rock (40km west of Warwick - 1600 acres sheep property) for his first day of trail riding (instead of MX tracks).

First off it is a big day trip leaving home at 5am and getting back home at 6.30pm with 7 hours of riding. It was cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Minus 4 at Cunninghams Gap and 2 degree inthe sun when we geared up.

I took him over to the big dam via some slightly rocky tracks.

Jack sampled the kids track which is basically a flat grass track (about 200m long with one small mound. It especially for beginners, which he informed me "he is not"and demanded to go back to trail riding. So off we went again
I had to find some mud cause he always complains that his PW50 doesn't get muddy like dad brings his bike home from Beerburrum. So mud it was.

He certainly showed more mud skills than me. Although there was a few moments when Dad had to rescue the bike.

We then decided to head to the plateau via his first singles on a dirt bike.

The tracks including the singles at Glendon are true sheep country, bloody rocky and hard going for most, especailly for little tacker on a PW50 with very limited suspension. His little legs paddled and bounced his way up some serious hills and rocks and he conquered the Plateau. This photo pretty well typifies the sense of acheivement we all get from riding dirt bikes, no matter what age and skill level.

He is now totally stoked on trail riding and said he never wants to ride on those boring MX tracks again!
We covered 37km of trails for the day (not much I know but a bloody long way on PW). I spent most of the time in second gear but did do a few of the little hill climbs and few singles while the boy waited.
All up a great day with my boy and top place to ride with no crowds. Cost $15 dollars each for the day.
But be warned it is very ROCKY, and most of the dads I spoke to said there kids would not ride the tracks as they were to frightened of all the rocks. My boy is however a bit of dare devil to say the least.
Good day!

Great report! Cool shots of Jack hitting the mud hello2. My daughter (7yo) is keen to give a PW50 a go, we are still saving :).

Looks like a great day out with your son. At what age did your son start riding?
My son just turned 3 and am curious to know. Was he riding his bicycle without training wheels before you bought him the pw 50?
Cheers,
Sunny.

37km on a PW is like 370km on a real bike, great work!

Excellent trip report icon_thumright

Got his PW on 4th birthday. He was riding without training wheels on his pushie for 6 months before that. I just started him straight away on PW no trainers and he had no trouble whatso ever.

He is only 2 weeks shy of his 5th birthday now. He did a day nearly every second week at Black duck tracks for 6 months before floods ( so about 10 days riding) . This was only his second ride since January.

Yep 37km on PW is massive.
