Regardless of size, make, model......

What attributes/components would make a great Dirtbike for the Aussie bush??

personally I'd go for........

Over 110 klms per tank, Standard!

A six speed box for transports..

Must have decent suspension. Ie, not have spring rates to suit a 65kg Japanese guy.
Be under 110kg wet.

Good thread! A good start would be to buy a KTM :D

Should have standard:

Axle pullers
Decent Ultra Heavy Duty Tubes
Decent tyres from stock
Gearing for the bush
Grease in the bearings from the shop

Kicker and electric start.

decent light (night rides and all)

decent bash plate from standard

decent oil ammount IE more than the 1 lt so the oil changes are less often and added reliability

Indicators and brake light design that wont stay in the bush each bloody ride IE inboard as much as possible

Heavy duty tubes and decent rubber from standard

Take all of huskies electrics and do the opposite.......

Install quality battery from stock IE motobat or other absorbed matt tech battery.

Decent handguards

Dave to set up the suspension to average weight to Beerburrem specs???

make the front guard red the rear blue one side yellow and the other ???? keep everyone happy

450 cc

Now my wish

500watt water proof electric motor with Lithium polimer battery for the fron wheel to cheat on hillclimbs (IE very limited use)

a 2012 suzuki rmx 250 2STROKE!!!! adr, 6 speed box, orrrrrrr a yamaha wr350f with a 6speed box, keep the carbies, keep the cable clutch, simple = less hassle on the trails.

although after seeing the ktm freeride i reckon they might well have invented the dream bike of many.

cheers
