 My new bike
I just picked this up a couple of weeks ago, it's a 2009 TE 310. I like it a lot, it's a fun bike to ride.

 Re: My new bike
I like the bucket stand. Had one of those once, but it collapsed while the front wheel was off. Using a kickass mdf cube till I find something better...Does the job in the meantime.

 Re: My new bike
Wow, this post has been up for almost 24hrs and no Husky jokes . That is the photo off bikesales with the bucket for a stand. I have just got myself a motorsport bike lift/stand, it is really good quality it cost $110 but it's fully adjustable and it gets both wheels off the ground. Dale the sticker kit is from ringmasterimages.com.au

 Re: My new bike
heh give it time marty.....pity the current crop of huskies and the current trends of sales, service and warranty issues let the brand down, but then there are some who by chance pluck an orange off the lemon tree.
I like the old huskies, TE610 and WR250 were great bikes (the 570cc engine was a real demon in its day) but even then they were quirky and definitely euro in feel. I rode a mates '93 TE610 and at 70kg (I was 18 back then) I barely registered on the back of that bike.....3rd gear mono's were a right wrist flick away....scared the heck out of me being the first time I'd ridden a real big bore 4t....until then I'd only ridden YZ 125's 250s and XR / TT 250 350's.

 Re: My new bike
I have done about 400km on it so far and it has not missed a beat. It is just a real fun bike to ride. It is capable of big hills and it really surprised me, i thought I would have to flogg the piss out of constantly. All the hype about these bikes is true. The only down side is you need to be in the correct gear as it doesn't pull out of corners as well as a larger capacity bike will when in the wrong gear.

 Re: My new bike
I had no dramas at all when i had my 09 TE310. It was a good reliable bike. I do believe its down to the pre-delivery on what makes a good one from a bad one. The 08 to 10 310 huskys with the red tappet cover head were a good motor. Not a powerhouse,And a heavy bike because of the engine cases are the same size as the 450 and 510 models. But Very Very easy to work on. The spark plug is easy to get to if you may ever drop the bike in a water crossing.(you dont have to remove the seat and fuel tank) If you ever damage a radiator or split a hose, you can crawl the bike home with a 5min break here and there because water wont pump out past the water pump once the level drops a bit .It just sits there. (It surrounds the cyl and just under the head) They are the best OHC motor to do valve clearance checks on, because you dont have to remove the cams to change the shims. One oil change does both the engine and gearbox. I dont know how many Kms you have on your husky Marty75, But you dont need to worry about what the book says about top end rebuilds. Ive always been told by Full throttle to just leave it alone and keep riding it till it may start to blow a bit of blue smoke, or start to loose a bit of power. That could be many of 1000s of kms away yet. So just injoy your ride.
P-s Dont know what gearing you have got. But most if not all 310 riders said that if you go up 2 teeth on the rear sproket,(13-50 to 13-52) it brings the torque up a bit from when you come out of a slow and tight corner.Should make hills a bit easy to use there power. I went to 13-52 and it made a good improvement.

 Re: My new bike
Hey Bullet, thanks for the advice mate. The bike had 700km on it it ,now has 1100km so hopefully plenty of riding before a top end is needed. The gearing is standard at the moment, when I replace the chain and sprockets (soon) I will try a couple more teeth on the back. Cheers Marty.

 Re: My new bike
One more thing. Ask lummy as well, but they much prefer to use BP Ultimate (98) out of all the premuim unleaded fuels. Caltex vortex makes a husky pop--crackle--and backfire a bit on Decelaration. BP Ultimate has none of that. It seems to start easy at operating temp. and idles smoother as well.
