I live in Cambodia, which has some top riding. The Yamaha WRFs are pretty popular here as easy to get parts, and they have great performance. I've got the 02 250 Model, and the 08 250 one as well.

I really rate them both, but I always go back to the 02 for sheer grunt satisfaction. The 08 has better handling, and it's nice havin an electric start, but the 02 feels like it's got a big bore kit in it. For a 250 there is loads of grunt throughout the range.

Just bought an '08 450F as well. Well that is a different beast. ;)

I had an 01 250 and it was the best at the time.As you say it gets up and goes not like the newer ones that have a more linier feel. You could do monos in every gear

Post Newbie on TRA. Can't find admin contact
Hi, my name is Dave and I've just joined your forum. I have a few questions about advertising, and regarding posts and what is acceptable to post or not.

I've been leading dirt bike tours in Cambodia for about ten years, and have recently started up my own company; KICKSTART Dirt Bike Tours. I would like to promote my business as well as posting ride reports and upcoming events. I am conscious of not wanting to spam your forum members so could you advise on how best to do this.

An idea i had would be to offer discounts/promotions to forum members. What is the best way to approach this?

Also do you do link exchanges? I would be more than happy to put you guys on my website.

And finally if you could let me know any advertising rates that would be much appreciated.

I look forward to you reply. Thanks

Cheers guys

Dave Scott.

Hi Guys. Yeah I do tours in Cambodia. We're based in Siem Reap. We choose the WRs as our weapons of choice cos they are easy to maintain and as I said at t'top are popular here so there's no shortage of parts. I've got a KTM 450 EXC which I love . IS def' more set up for the European rider. Just gels, great handling and it goes where you point it. Effortless. But I've always liked the WR as an all rounder. If anyone wants more info about what we do you can contact me on dave@kickstartcambodia.com

[admins if I'm overstepping my mark please let me know, I want to mainly get involved with what's going on in the dirtbike scene around the world as we're pretty segregated in Cambodia ;) ]

Cheers Fellas!

Yup. It seems to be the same for most of the earlier models on any manufacturer. I suppose it's all to do with sales, making it more accesible to a wider market.

I had an old Honda CRM, and pre 97 before they bought out the AR valve it was just like a crosser. Same as the old XR's plastic tank/kickstart only. The later models are awful.
