Full story.

I was at 705 miles into a 1100 mile race. I had been on the bike for 27 hours straight with one 25 minute sleep and 12 stops of less than 2 minutes to refuel. I was doing about 30 mph round a blind corner when a spectator (who was not allowed on the track) came round the corner in the other direction sideways blocking to entire road. I turned as fast as I could and managed to only clip the back of his ute.

My bike tore the back axel out of his ute and broke his rim. My bike has engine cases smashed, snapped frame and bent swing arm.

I had left Ensenada near San Diego at 7:30 the day before and was making good time to reach La Paz that evening. My hands were saw but the rest of my body was holding up well. So there was a good chance I could have made it.

I am little disappointed but have heard much worst out comes in this years Baja 1000 so all in all consider myself very lucky.
