Post Berg Fe350 2013 using oil
Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and need some assistance. My 2013 Fe350 seems to be using oil and the dealer says its fine. Done 1200klm and owned since new. Have done regular oil and filter changes every 200-300klm. Added aprox 300ml and done 280odd k's since then. About to do another change and sitting in the window but about 1/3 from the top of the window. Riders behind say its blowing smoke. IDEAS?

is it blowing smoke all the time??? or just when its been on its side or been flipped cus it could just be burning the miss placed oil . if its doing on a easy ride now lay downs , then its sounds its due for a top end rebuild

Thanks Shaun that's what I reccon.. last couple of rides have been uneventful because a mate hurt his knee and not going hard. I think its using about 100ml per hundred K. No power loss and I am 46 so no big times monos or over the top riding. Just a hack that loves a blip.
I did do air filters and caked the oil on... shop said its sucking oil from the inside of the filter, I said that crap but all tests came up good.
Just over 20 hours on the cockpit recorder.... manual says 100h before rebuild.. I'm confused.

pfft sucking oil from the filter is BS.

id say you have piston ring issues if it's using oil or even blowby,

i use about 200mm of oil with a bad sprocket leak pissing oil every where over 100km
so your oil is going somewhere, if it's not on the ground then it's internal

I presume you put in the correct amount of oil?

Using Motorex 10w 60 Fully Synthetic and yes using the correct amount... I agree with everyone, to me its internal.

Firstly, using 100ml of engine oil per 100km of riding is not normal.

So to get this straight, you added 300ml's of oil, rode 280km's and it used oil, now the oil is 1/3 down form the top of the sight glass?

So where was the oil level when you first added the 300ml of oil? Right to the top of the slight glass?

How much oil are you putting in for each service?

Are you measuring it when it comes out?
