Me :D

I think on the Saturday it will be a Sprint format not 4 x 30min races like the usual Yamaha X Country format.

Hi Naomi,

I'm not too familar with this racing format, what does the Sprint format have in store for me ? I normally race motorcross but inspired by Rockets recent effort !!

Looking forward to it, unfortunately can't stay for the pony Express on the Sunday.

Cheers,
Lovey

Lovey,

The sprint format is run as such.

Riders will ride a series of single timed laps. The exact number of laps will be determined on the day according to the lap length and the number of entries. As a guide, 6 to 8 laps. Seniors will swap tracks (on some occassions).
Riders are given an initial starting number at entry time and start their first lap in order of that number at an interval determined by the race organisers (typically 15 to 30 seconds). All laps for all riders will be timed, the winners will be those that have completed the required number of laps in the least total time.
A horn will sound as a 5 minute to start signal for every lap.

Usually you will get 15-20mins between races which gives you a good breather. MXer's generally do quite well in these format races as they are kinda much like motocross short burst races with breaks.

Pony Express races are so much fun! Shame your missing it.

If you see me, say hello hello2 I have hot pink number boards, #603 can't miss me!
