Post Gates at Kandanga/Amamoor
Couple of weeks ago a guy got air lifted out at kandanga, hit a wire gate at speed.
He is ok now, but could very easily been much worse (ripped throat from barbed wire, serious puncture in back and broken ribs)

Gates are getting closed and getting checked more frequently.
On Saturday I met the people who are leasing a section of land out there for cattle - from Amama park to near the muster site I think. They said DERM and some other group is making life difficult for them regarding movement of stock into areas they are not supposed to be.
They were saying people are leaving gates open, some are even flogging the bright coloured flags/signs they put up to make the gates more visible.

They are happy with people going through gates, as long as they are shut again.

Just wanted to let everyone know there are probably going to be a few more gates shut in that area, bit of a worry if you don't expect them to be there.

Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up.

Everytime I see them I remind myself to throw some fluro tape in my backpack, always forget BangHead

The uv faarks the stuff pretty quick, and the wear and tear of dragging on the ground.

I remember a couple years ago up there,Bathy was leading and slamed on his brakes and slid under a wire fence
A couple of us went through and put some flouro tags on a couple wire gates, but now those gates are down

They are pretty hard to see if you are not expecting them.

Doesn't help if the local hippies take the fluro stuff off. Can't think of anyone else who would feel the need to remove that stuff.
