Post how to stuff up a decent ride.
Well today about 20 bikes all good first 10 ks cornerman working perfect. Then i slow done point at the spot get the nod from then rider and keep going to let the ride flow as it was. This muppethead lets 2 bikes thru then send's the rest over the otherside of the mountain, with no lead.We wait at next track and wait and wait nothing.rider from last corner nearest us comes up and tells us he can hear bikes going over the mountain.
We decide to try to catch them to turn them around and the berg stop's (nother story).
We had a briefing and everybody tells me they knew how to run the cornerman system.
One complete f@@k up.Probably after the girls ride in late april will not post up rides out there anymore,if people want to ride these fantastic track's then i will lead small groups only (with people i have ridden with before).

To aaron and his mate (sorry forgot your name) and craig if you want a better look around in a small group you know what to do.You will not be disappointed.
I have lead many succesfull ride's thru these track's and never had a F##K up like this before
rant over

No good Steve, it should have been an epic days riding for you, hope the Berg's ok, Ralph got 70k into his first ride( at woodenbong) on his and the fuel pump shat itself, and that was after owning the husky of mass disasters beforehand (same model as sunny's, same issues), hasnt missed a beat since getting new pump

It happens Steve, as said before. I find it happens when there is a person on the ride who is not on your "regular rides".

Don't let it get you down...

Gotta say

At the riders briefing (or chat before you take off)

even If everybody says they know the cornerman system backwards it best to still go over it again

Go through Pointing your bike in the direction of the lead ride and the fact that the cornerman should never leave a corer until the sweep comes through.

Just never skip it.

wont work all the time but cuts down on the above.

sucks balls when it happens

whats worse is when other riders cut in and get put on corners and then piss off....

This happens to dale a bit.

Yeh simon there was one rider who did not know of the system so i ran through it with him whilst everybody was there.
Mate did all the right thing's the sweep was working well and it was not the sweep's fault he only went were directed by the cornerman.

Hey Steve,
Thanks for ride the first up.Amazing tracks.Bit of a challenge the track that was slippery as hell for.Seemed to go on for ages, arse end sliding all over the place at times.
Thought Shawns ride mightve been 5-10km in with him mis judging the other side of a rocky creek and ending up flipping bike from off a rock and landing in creek.Lucky pretty shallow and on our way soon after tipping on back wheel. For a 6'4'',120kg bloke that bike throws him from time to time.

Shambles today with corner man system alright.Works great when its working correctly but things immediately go to shit when it doesn't work.Fact is a lot of riders are still unsure if they are new or just don't follow?

What measures are there in place for when it does go wrong? Are head counts always performed?Wondering if it would make sense for a rider that comes to a clear section that should clearly have a corner man but doesn't(As the other rider mightve thought bugger it im off),to stop there and stop every rider behind him to regroup and wait for sweep to catch up,then all continue together as i assume sweep will always know route?

We got to top section 15km off coarse meeting the group of the NSW crew who were off aswell. It was there we all waited for some time then they continued on.QLD crew(5 of us) stayed. We were informed by one of the blokes that the rest and sweep will be here soon.We waited for 45mins or so not knowing if you really knew where we were being 15km off.Fortunately a 'upper Clarence rider'(not sure of name, black 250 ktm i think) stayed with us.He wasn't to familiar with area but lead us to a point where we ended up on the Clarence ride track and made it back to cars.If he hadn't stayed with us and lead bugger if i know where QLD crew would be?I shook his hand after,Legend if you read this mate.

Got home safe in the end and had Easter.
Cheers
Aaron.
