:o Thats a huge bill" I dont know what sought of things you have at home to use so much power but there seems to be a problem somewere. We have just fitted a 4kwph Solar system and we are $60.00 in credit with our power company for the first quarter. We sell back to the grid @.50c a kw. We use the clothes dryer every day, The spa tub is heating, And we have a 3.5hp Reverse aircon as well as power saving bulbs, and turn of all of the standbys when not in use.

Roughly about $8600.00 The goverment payed the rest. It used to cost me $3200.00 a year in power bills. That means the system will pay for itself in under 3yrs. And not to mention theve already said there will be more rate increases threw the next 3 yrs.

Yep, Last week the good old Qld Government authorised the power providers to raise their prices by 6%.
Apparently they needed to do that because their income/profit was down because they didn't sell enough electricity over the summer.
The reason they didn't sell so much, people were trying to conserve it.
S0 if you try to save money by conserving electricity, which is what the greenies tell us to do, the mofos just put the price up to cover their greedy arses anyway.

$500 for me. Air cons on all the time, whether cooling or heating - good old western suburbs - bloody no sea breezes in summer and cold in Winter.

Are you sure you don't have a garage full of hydorponics hello2 Or your neigbours have tapped into your power and they have the hydro set up from hell next door :headbang

Check all your fridge seals etc to see if your fridge/ freezer motors etc aren't running all the time.

Do you have a pool? Check your pump is not working overtime aswell.

is this post bout electricity bills ?? !!

mine are always just under $1000 a quarter..

all the time.. 4 bedrooms +study 3 bathrooms and a pool. 5 split systems.. 4 computers and 2 laptops.. usually all plugged in and running. 2 50 inch plasma tv's usually both running.. 2 fridges.. just way life is..
2 girls 2 boys and 1 cat..

But $1800 sounds steep but not bloody impossible with your property and shed
maybe u should sell electric mower and use the ride on :P
