Tried the tyre on Saturday morning at kennel, was good at almost everything I threw it at.
Had it at 11psi, feels really soft at that pressure, so stuck with it.

Had to stay away from the chook chase track, went and found some more interesting stuff than their track anyway.

Awesome up hills, even got good grip on wet rock and that hard slippery clay that that you can't stand up on. Restarts half way up a hill were much easier than with a knobby, hardest part was restarting the bike. Getting going again was easy.

Downhill was a bit sketchy at first, but as long as you don't expect the back to slow you down it's all good.

At speed they feel funny, but I don't get to 80+kmh often.
Felt ok in the single, not really great though - doesn't have much traction on the edge of the tyre.

Definitely a tyre that suits the way I ride - not racing, just plodding around and having a crack at every hill and nearly every obstacle I come across, even if it's out of my league. The extra traction gives me way more confidence with hills.

All depends on how long it lasts now. The way it looks after one ride, I think it'll do well.

It honestly feels like I am cheating, there really is too much traction in some situations.

Was an ok tyre, not the best but good.

Got a heap of k's out of it and would have got more, but got stuck on a really loose hill in kennel and ripped a few centre lugs right off down to the canvas.
Ended up with the inevitable flat a few k's later. Tyre = stuffed.

Had an MX71 available so on it went. It is so much more predictable and enjoyable to ride on.

While I thought the trials tyre suited the way I ride, I was wrong. It suited my laziness.
Made it easer to get up and over the hard stuff, but harder to ride the easy stuff.

Won't be going back I don't think, but at least I gave one a go.

File comment: New tyre mx 71
