Post New bike or not?
Ok guys was hoping for a bit of advice? I do not profess to be a fast rider but enjoyed this weekends run with freak and the boys just found the 525 to be really heavy! Wouldn't really want to do any thing harder than this easy ride. I have a ktm 2005 exc that seems to be sapping money faster than I can ride,
I have had the rear shock done at suspension matters
Carb sorted loads of low end grunt
New sprockets
Spare wheels
Engine was rebuilt recently and is fully serviced
Bike runs great but, the list of things to finish I have are approx $2500
Which includes forks revalved ,new plastics ,down pipe, frame powder coated, tyres, all the bits really to make it as mint as possible and as good !

So my question am I wasting money on an older bike , when I should be buying a newer model ktm 450 2011 ?
Or once finished will it be as good as a newer model?
Thanks in advance 8-)

Q is. Can you afford a new bike ??
When I say aford. I mean pay cash !! ??
If you have to put a new bike on finance. Then keep the one you got !
A new bike will still need coin spent on it !
Suspension. / most bikes come with crap tires / chains sprockets etc

Good rider = 10%. Bike
90%. Bloke on it

Just my thoughts

Yes I could afford a newer one but not a brand new one , but would it be a lot easier to ride ? Some one at my skill level prob 2-3 at best will I see a benefit for the extra money or should I spend it on the one I have? As some times it's better the devil you know! Just wanted to ask If any one has had both ?
If I put a standard 450 2011 against my 525 when its done would I notice a big difference?
If not i will happily spend the money on mine... Cheers

New bike old bike still going to spend money on them.2011 ktm 450 will be the same weight
As the 525 . It's only the 2 smokers and small 4 t that feel lighter to ride .If your getting a ktm 450 try 2012 onward

Like BB said its the rider that makes a good rider not the bike .finishing your suspension and new tyres will make a big difference icon_thumright

525 is a good bike. !!! Good tires. And suspension. Keep you happy !!
The 300. Is totally diff bike. !!! Up and down the gears on the brakes A real buzz !!

You can't compare the 2.

Even A 2014 exc 450. Won't make you ride any better !!
Unless Mabe your a pro !! :headbang ??
