Post Well its here.....
Well picked up the new Berg today, I wont say where yet as I want to give the guys a chance to right some wrongs around details like fitting the tyres I bought plus some other details, some of which are provided below.

After picking it up I headed straight to Dave at Suspension Matters to get it sprung for my non jockey weight. Once it was on the table Dave suggested we check the swing arm and steering head bearings. I had been assured they were going to be done in pre-delievery but Dave was skeptical and Im glad he was. Also having read TonyH's thread this week it was prominent in my mind. So I got to learn how to rip apart a brand new bike.

Here's the steering head bearing.

Needless to say at this stage I was better educated but disappointed in the dealer. Then Dave fished this out of the airbox...... If this had somehow found its way past the filter such as when cleaning it, goodbye motor.

Well after sorting all that out and Dave doing his thing with the forks and shock, we fitted up graded SRK bearing seals and it was time to bolt it all back together. I want to make a clear and loud shout out to Dave here, AWESOME service.

I was reluctant to go riding by myself, especially on a new bike that is a class (or 2) above my current WR but what is a boy to do with something that looks like this? :)

Gotta say it was well worth it all!!!!! Now I know the guys coming from a 450 or 500 may find them under powered for obvious reasons, coming off the 250 its awesome. I only did 20km all on fire trail in case of a decent stack and no one with me but man its FUN. Im going to have to seriously lift skill wise as everything happens a LOT quicker. It is revvy like a 250 but with a LOT more punch. Looking forward to getting some serious hours on it this week, bedding the suspension in and having fun (and trying not to drop it) :) :) :)

First thing, you are missing the back tyre.
Second thing, there is way too much grease on those bearings(that will slow down your turning time)
Third thing, bastard(dont get offended i say that to every one that gets a new bike, wheres mine
Fourthly, great bike until you drop it :)

Walked past a Freeride today and wondered if I made the right decision. :)

Loved the freeride at Killarney the sweeps riders that rode it where impressed.
The freeride is the right bike for me I'm not getting any younger. Stuart took it for a run on the weekend he still say he wouldn't mind one but he wouldn't get rid of his 300

Pete you'll enjoy your new bike.

Looks very nice. Sorry to hear of the dealer issues but thats been my similar experience during times past.
As a consequence I always check the basics on a vehicle after purchasing it now.
They just can't be relied on....
