Post Re: What's the best protective gear?
Hi mate yes I ordered a bash plate from the states, as ktm brisbane didn't have the time of day for me or my bike! They said they didn't have it listed and were not sure if they could get one!!!! Wtf! I asked about gear as well he pointed its over there! The bike and me must be too old! to warrant customer service! Not to worry the shop down the road was happy to take my$1200 and he gave me nearly $200 off , :headbang the bike came with full bark busters so I could put them on but some one had an issue with going over the bars and hurting there wrist with them, so I thought I would see what you guys thought?

Have you tried Andrew? I understand the service there is VERY good. As a site sponsor and regular helper on TRA rides so perhaps try him.

Dave at Suspension Matters also asite sposnsor does other things as well as the suspension and is helping set up on the new 'berg. Nice guy that is willing to share a little time to explain things too.

Wouldnt ride without Barkbusters - hit MANY trees but rarely go over the bars.

Yeah i'm with Steve, however in saying that we have some very good sponsors that are willing to help out.
Dave at suspension matters is very helpful and keen for your $$ and you'll also find Ben at Pro griffin (KTM) at Maroochydore will also help out. Mention your a TRA member and they'll look after you!

As for the Barkbusters I'm sure there's a million reasons to and not to fit them. I've run bark busters in one form or another since i started riding (a little while back now ;) ) an i reckon they've saved me more $$ and crushed fingers and hands than i care to talk about. once again that's my opinion.

+1

I've hit trees hard with no effect that would have severely crushed my fingers if not for bark busters. Also helps to prevent snapped levers. In my opinion the benefits of having them on far out way the slight chance of possible wrist damage going over the bars.

small shrub pushed my front break on and it was a fantastic ride from there on :D

Hand Guards for the win!

Someone has to be the last and it makes the other riders feel so much more pro-dude. THANK YOU! :wav icon_thumright

We should ask the SES to have a chopper on standby knowing that you start on a 525. Take it really easy out there. That thing can be quite fast and hurt you a lot :nono. Damn, I sound like my mum.
