Post I need an auxiliary fuel tank/bag rack to fit a 2009 WR450F
I'm after one of those fuel tanks which slips over the rear guard for a trip out to the coast. My trip will be this: Cowra to Boorowa (first fuel stop - 76.5kms), then from Boorowa to Yass (around 50kms), then from Yass to Goulburn (just under 90kms), then from Goulburn to Bowral (around 70kms although there's a petrol station about halfway at a place called Marulan). From Bowral I'm pretty certain I can make it down to Nowra no problem, and then from there it's only a short ride to Huskisson where I'll be staying.

Basically I've got to cover about 80kms to get to the first fuel stop - I have no idea how much I get out of the standard tank...But I am able to commute to work and get home on a single tank and that's about 60km all up. There's a little bit left in the bottom when I get home...

Does anybody know what the range of the stock tank is? If it's not enough to make 80kms, would the Acerbis 2.1 litre tank in addition to the standard tank be enough to make it that far?
I also wouldn't mind getting a rack to put a bag on or an esky for when I ride to work - what kind of rack can I get that will fit an '09 WR450?

Cheers

Ed

Is the Clark one a replacement for the main tank or is it an extra?

the clarke tank is a replacement tank. Easy to swap over. The only issue would be the fuel tap which if you use the standard tap will end up on the underside of the tank. Still easy to get to but on the inside. Check Ballards, i think they are having a 50% off on clarke tanks at the moment. If not order from Just tanks in USA. All up delivered is still cheaper than buying here. Hope this helps

Ballards only do WRF tanks for 03-06 models.

Why does nobody do the more modern bikes?!
