Is a dampner a good buy for someone with my riding ability or am I getting ahead of myself? Next step for the WR is getting the suspension done but thinking after that.

once youve got your suspension dialled in you may not feel the need for a damper

+1 for Andrew for your damper.

You might also want to get one of these to stop your accelerator cable catching on it. Suspensionmatters (Dave) on here sells them.

Have you done the "tie wire mod" to your accelerator cable or have you replaced it with a motion pro unit?

The ends of the throttle cable on the 11 and 12 300's are not screwed in at the carb and throttle body. Imagine riding in some tight track and a branch catches your throttle cable. Because its doesn't screw in at both ends the branch pulls the cable tight up out of the carb resulting in full throttle that you can't control. Scary thought that one...

You can cheat and tie wire both ends of the throttle cable to stop this happening or buy an aftermarket Motion Pro cable that screws in both ends.

Cheat method with tie wire.

Pete, they are worth it for anyone if you can afford it. icon_thumright
I wouldn't buy anything but a Scotts, and Andrew001 is a nice guy.

Thanks Frank400 I had no idea about this issue, again tho you pay a lot of money for these bikes and I think it should be on there to start with.

The new motion cable is longer than standard is this to reroute the cable or do i still need a cable gide?

I will get on to it ASAP and do one or the other, good pics thanks for the info.

Yep, the motion pro cable will go front side of the bars down behind the headlight like most other bikes so no need for the guide
