Post It's been a while...
Hey guys,
It's been ages since I've ridden with you lot or even posted on this site. So I thought I'd stop in and say hi so to speak. Basically what I have been up to is, after last ride with you guys I decided I was sick of being the most gumby rider out there and always slowing everyone else down. So I have been off with a couple of good mates, riding every 2-3 weeks, improving my bike fitness and teaching myself to ride. Im no pro, but im definitely getting better. I've certainly put some Ks on the old Kato as of late. A bit more practice and I think I'll be ready to start coming out on some low-level rides.
Here's a video of my latest ride. enjoy.

To be honest mate, Im not only learning to ride this thing, Im learning to maintain it too. I haven't checked my valves since I got it, but I know simmo sent it in for a rebuild just before i got it and I haven't put 1000k on it yet. Still feels pretty sharp. Really I think suspension is the next major thing to spend money on as I'm starting to do little jumps and she feels a bit soft under my big fat ar##. Though I haven't really played with the clickers yet. I intend to have a bit of a test'n'tune style ride with the clickers when i go riding next weekend. This weekend I'm gonna sit down and look at the static and laden sag.

I've had one of those 01-02 400s and now have 07 450.. (last of that engine)..and both the same, the inlet valves move.

Maybe check them at 1500 but if it's ever losing power the valve adjustment may be needed.

Went for a ride yesterday and had a pretty funny stack, thought you guys might like to see it.

Warning: explicit language

From our ride further exploring the strawberry trails on august 4 in an area we call "The Pit". It was the first time (of many) that the 3 of us have ridden all together and 15 minutes into the ride we end up stacked on top of each other. Being real men who would rather diving in head first without doing and research, we found this sandy little blind crest and tore off over it, all in a line and without susing it out first. This is what happens. No one was hurt in this crash, in fact you'll see from the video that we all found it quite funny, and that is the benefit of wearing the correct protective gear (I honestly believe my pressure suit saved me a serious chest injury).
